Oasis - a stylish arrangement made of Fresh Flowers

We use only fresh-cut flowers in our arrangements. However our clients often ask us, how long is an arrangement going to last? Is it going to stand for a week or wilt in a couple of days?
For those of you who worry about the longevity of our fresh-flower arrangements, we have prepared some new entries to our catalog that will surely please the eye of the recipient for a long time, if you don’t forget to take some basic care after them.
Oasis – fresh flowers in a box
This small arrangement is made with spray roses, kaaps silver brunia, spray chrysanthemums, and freesias. All these flowers are placed onto a floristic sponge that helps them to stay fresh longer.
The care needed for such an arrangement is quite simple – all you need to do is water it every now and then, and don’t let the sponge dry out. Do this and Oasis is going to stay fresh for much longer than a regular bouquet.
How do you make a flower arrangement in a box?
For this arrangement we will need: a small rectangular box, floristic sponge, wooden pins, floristic film, fresh flowers.
First we need to carve the sponge while it’s dry. In this composition we arranged the sponge in three layers. This way the arrangement is equally visible from all sides, and it appears bigger and more complex.
We used wooden pins or toothpicks to fix the sponge in layers. You need to cut the pins a little bit so it won’t stick out of the sponge.
Once the sponge is prepared we may start to construct the layers. Put one sponge on top of the other and fix them together with toothpicks. Don’t forget to use floristic film as well.
Once that is done, you need to work with flowers. Define the compositional center and work with chiaroscuro around it. The bright centerpiece is accentuated with colder tones of foliage, the flowers should be arranged from the top to the bottom with calmer tones below.
